Slice of Hope

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Parlor is trying to help out. Friday, October 11th, Padres participated in Slice of Hope, a charity event designed to raise funding for the fight against breast cancer. Sadly, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and it is the second leading cause of death in women. Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the US will be diagnosed, and more than 40,000 will die. And although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,150 men will be diagnosed and 410 will die each year. A percentage of all of our sales on Slice of Hope were contributed to the Karen Mullen Breast Cancer Foundation, which passes nearly 100 percent of its proceeds on to the nation's leading breast cancer research labs. Thank you to everyone who ordered food and helped to support this great cause.
